GE Vernova, Boeing, and Meta participates in a US business trip to Vietnam. As a demonstration of American business interest in Vietnam following Washington’s improvement of relations with the country last year, a sizable delegation of American companies, including wind energy company GE Vernova, Boeing, and Meta, is in the country this week.
According to the US-ASEAN Business Council, which sent a business delegation comparable in size to Vietnam last year, about 50 companies are expected to take part.
Participating companies include conglomerate Koch Industries, energy company AES, gaming company Roblox, insurance group Chubb, safety standards company UL Solutions (ULS.N), and weather forecasting provider.
GE Vernova, Boeing, and Meta participates in a US business trip to Vietnam. Numerous of these businesses are already operating in Vietnam. With more than 60 million users, the nation is one of Meta’s biggest markets worldwide. Last year, Boeing and national carrier Vietnam Airlines inked a preliminary agreement for the sale of fifty of Boeing’s 737 aircraft.
Last year, U.S. President Joe Biden pushed for greater cooperation in the semiconductor industry and improved ties with Vietnam. However, according to the organizers, no semiconductor companies are expected to be part of this week’s business delegation.
Meetings between the business mission and local authorities are scheduled for Tuesday through Thursday. According to the organizers, a smaller delegation of security companies will speak with officials from Vietnam’s ministries of police and defense on Monday to explore potential business prospects.
